If there's one thing we can't stand, it's food waste, wasting time and money needlessly.
What are we talking about? Here's an example!
How many times have we had to go back to the supermarket because the essential ingredient for a recipe was missing from the shopping list, or a certain item (toilet paper, toothpaste, ...) wasn't added because the person who finished it didn't update the list?

Today we want to talk to you about grocery shopping and how it's possible to optimize even this activity that all of us do periodically.

An awful feeling

Both Alessandro and I come from families that have worked a lifetime in the catering industry, so food has always been a big part of our lives. For those managing a business, it's crucial to minimize waste and reuse as much as possible to lower expenses.

This approach (absolutely correct) has transferred into our daily life in despising any form of waste! Try to imagine our feeling when finding expired foods in the pantry or fridge!

All this had to change!

The change started with a simple step: meal planning. It might seem trivial, but planning what we will eat during the week has had a positive impact on our daily lives!
That's exactly why our Weekly Menu app was born

Over time we have noticed
  • reduction in food waste: we only buy what we actually need by utilizing what we already have at home;
  • time-saving: by reducing trips to the supermarket, we have more time for ourselves;
  • money-saving: by optimizing our shopping, we've reduced impulsive buying of unnecessary products;
  • greater variety and quality in meals: planning has allowed us to experiment with new recipes and ingredients, thus improving our diet.

Can we improve further?

At this point, it was natural for us to ask ourselves: since a simple action has had such a positive effect in our life, can we improve further?

We didn't stop there and learned a lot of new things that we want to share with you.
We wrote an e-book with 31 tips for better shopping specifically to give you food for thought and actionable advice to help you save time and money!
